You’re absolutely right; the buttons work differently and making it behave like Windows should make for smooth transitioning. Although there’s an argument for how the full screen feature on OS X can enhance productivity with multiple desktops using the trackpad.

Comment on Google’s Little Dilemma by Tosin Gold https://www.airplay.io/googles-little-dilemma/#comment-14 Thu, 29 Nov 2012 06:49:17 +0000 http://airplay.io/2012/11/26/googles-little-dilemma/#comment-14 Google maps wasn't any better when they started.. first it was low level detailed map images then after improvement and development.. their maps began to have more details even Nokia maps was better than what Google was offering at that time.

The reason why there is so much ranting about the apple maps .. is because there is a better one out there… that it can be compared to.

When they launched Siri.. it wasn't perfect..but y'all kept quiet.. because it couldn't be compared to any mobile application out there..that could provide that same functionality.

With time, they will get it right….hence a competition..hence better innovation in map application development.

Apple's tradition ..working with other rivals.
They would rather
– buy the company – Siri
– barter – like they did with Microsoft for office applications.
– Or develop their own (like they are doing now to

This will only make them less dependent on the Google ecosystem.
I like the strategy.. its the same one Google is applying.. soon it will start reaping its benefits from the Motorola acquisition….in terms of better mobile devices…soon Android depending vendors….market share will be slashed into half.

For Apple Maps, This is really a new field for them..so give them time.

– A superb digital camera that takes better photos at higher resolution.

I hardly copy out photos from my lower camera resolution phones (blackberrys, androids (x.S3), windows, java…) to my iPhone(high resolution).. instead it is the other way around.

But there are other wireless options you can explore..
1. Over the air transfer using Dropbox (download to your pc and install it on your iphone ..and sync) – works over the internet.

2. Wifi folder syncing applications (mobile and desktop version) – that allows you sync folders on your desktop to your phone. – works over wifi (adhoc or infrastructure).

..For apple ecosystem users.. Photo syncing is not a problem.

I usually have at least three browsers myself.
I actually have plans of writing an article comparing the major browsers and letting you know which one I use most and for what reasons.
To subscribe to the blog, when you mouse over to the right side of the screen, there should be a fly out menu with four links. The last link lets you subscribe with Google reader or see the RSS feed (http://airplaypodcast.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default) where you can click subscribe.

Comment on Should you get an iPad? Or any tablet at all? by Gbenga Ajide https://www.airplay.io/should-you-get-ipad-or-any-tablet-a/#comment-18 Tue, 20 Mar 2012 07:25:25 +0000 http://airplay.io/2012/03/11/should-you-get-ipad-or-any-tablet-a/#comment-18 In reply to Bukie.

A guide to getting the right computer seems like a really interesting write. The major thing is to know why you are getting the computer and how much power you need. Comparing processors should also be based on how much you know about the processor. My method is if you don't know much about them, go for intel. AMD has its fan base and they are people who know exactly what they want with that processor (maybe overclocking).
About the i-series processors from intel, they are just brand names for their new quad core and six core (i9) line of processors. Hard disk space, RAM memory size (4GB is usually ok especially if you don't do graphics or video editing), screen size, and DVD Drive are things you should look at when seeking to purchase a computer. Hope I've been able to help.

Wow, I see you're hooked on the crackberry. I don't own a BB even though I've been using one for about a month now and I am yet to be blown away. It's a Curve 9360 (or Curve 4) and I'm going to review it on the blog anyway. But the only two apps I find myself using are the BBM and Foursquare. Whatsapp is really good for keeping in touch and is a great alternative to BBM. Instant messaging apps like the ones you listed above are really good considering you have constant internet access. This is another advantage of the BB. Data is cheaper on it than on other smartphones. I will look into more instant messaging apps and see if I can write something about selecting the right one. Thank you for reading and commenting!

Those are the big players though many more browsers out there.

I have at least two browser applications on my laptop due to compatibility reasons with some web applications.

Oh and is there a way to subscribe by email to your blog? Thanks!

I am frankly tired of the numerous issues that come with the phone. From numerous freezes to auto-restarts and message loss, you see why I want to throw the phone into the bar beach.

Not sure if you are a BBM addict but if so, what applications do you now use to facilitate keeping in touch with friends especially those out of the country (BBM definitely helps eliminate buying phone cards :))

I currently have Whatsapp and find it useful. I also use a number of instant messaging applications like gchat, yahoo and msn. Could you do a review or present other apps in this category that facilitates free communication between remote users using a mobile device and/or web/desktop application

While I cringe anytime I think about the underlying cost associated with an ipad or a tablet, I want one so bad 🙁

So now that we know questions to ask before buying one, would you be giving us some insights or perhaps a guide when it comes to selecting a computer. Often times, we get lost in the world of the processors especially comparing those by different vendors. For example, intel to AMD. Can you provide some insight on this? With the introduction of the 2nd generation intel "i" processors and more processors in the works, what should a potential buyer look for or consider before making a purchase. What metrics should one look for? The advisable least memory size to purchase amongst others.
